POLYTECHNIC FOR WOMEN, LONI
It
is said that a woman's education is education for the whole
family. A literate and employed woman is a self -dependent
woman who is not only confident to face all the evils of
society but also develops a positive attitude towards education
of children ushering in a healthy society. With this objective
professional institute "Rural Polytechnic for Women"
was established in the year 1983. This institute is serving
the cause of spreading technical education, amongst girls
of Pravaranagar,Loni and its surrounding areas and also
girls of other places of Maharashtsra, and states of Gujrat,
Jammu & Kashmir.
The Institute
is fully residential and offers the following courses i.e.
Industrial Electronics. Electronics and Telecommunication,
Computer Technology & Instrumentation.
The institute
has its own campus of approximately eight hectares with
a main building consisting of ground and three floors, a
workshop block and Electrical Engineering laboratory-cum-audio
visual block. The hostel building has ground and two floors
to accommodate 400 students.
The institution
has well qualified staff dedicated to the cause of education.
Laboratories are fully equipped and library has an adequate
stock of text and reference books. Modern audio-visual aids
e.g. Educational Video Cassettes, Charts, models and training
kits are also available with the library.
The institute
awards fee concessions to needy and meritorious students.
In addition other prizes are given to students with bright
performance in academics, cultural and sports activities.
Earn and Learn Scheme of the institute encourages the financially
poor students to earn by doing part-time work in laboratories,
library, hostel and mess. Teacher-Guardian Scheme is also
implemented and is popular with students as they express
their difficulties to their teacher-guardian.
