Rural girls used to lag behind their urban parts counter in Home Science. So the need for their all round development as responsible and skilled housewives or working women having a scientific and modern temperament was felt. To cater to this need of rural girls, Home Science College for Women, affiliated to S.N.D.T. University, Mumbai was established in June 1997.

KREEDA PRABODHINI

To enhance the standard of games and sports in Maharashtra and to train sports stars of National as well as International level, Maharashtra Government has established Chatrapati Kreedanagar University at Pune. From 1997 the State Government has given permission to start Kreeda Prabodhini at Pravaranagar. It is under the auspices of the University.
