The
Polytechnic started in August 1981 is the first one to be
started on "NoGrant Basis" in the State of Maharashtra.
After observing the successful functioning of the institute,
Govemment took a decision to grant permission to start technological
institutions allover the state on "No Grant Basis"
in a grand manner in the year 198384.
The institute runs six courses for the students in the branches
of Civil, Mechanical, Industrial Electronics, Chemical,
Instrumentation and Computer Technology. In addition, a
part time vocational course in "Computer Operations"
is conducted.
The institution
has its own independent campus and spacious buildings having
special architectural features be-fitting to the rural environment.
The Institution
has played a very significant role in imparting technical
education at supervisory level, particularly to the rural
youth. Many of these young engineers have become entrepreneurs
and have created employment opportunities in the rural area,
thereby stopping the exodus of rural youth of Maharashtra
to urban areas in search of work.
